- AMC's The Audacity has promoted Jess McLeod to series regular for Season 2 of the darkly comedic Silicon Valley drama.
- McLeod plays Harper, a pink-haired CTO at data-mining startup Hypergnosis who built an algorithm capable of uncovering even the most protected private data.
- Creator Jonathan Glatzer's series also stars Billy Magnussen, Sarah Goldberg, Zach Galifianakis, Lucy Punch, Simon Helberg, and Rob Corddry.
- AMC renewed the show in March, ahead of its Season 1 premiere; Season 2 will consist of 10 episodes.
- The trans, nonbinary actor also appears this year in Bob Odenkirk's Normal and in Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, which opened Cannes Un Certain Regard.
- McLeod's short She's Nonbinary, executive produced by Odenkirk and Jane Schoenbrun, will premiere at Tribeca, Dances with Films, and Raindance, with a feature version in development and selected for the Tribeca Creators Market.
Why it matters: The promotion secures McLeod — a trans, nonbinary actor playing data-mining CTO Harper — as a continuing presence on AMC's 10-episode Season 2 alongside established stars like Galifianakis and Magnussen. Their simultaneous Cannes Un Certain Regard premiere, Tribeca and Dances with Films selections for She's Nonbinary, and a feature version in development put McLeod's work across streaming, festival, and development pipelines in the same year.
