- President Trump is expected to tap Jay Clayton, his director of national intelligence, for a new White House role as AI — or in Trump's words, 'super intelligence' — czar.
- Trump previously told Axios that Clayton would be a good idea for the AI czar role, per the source.
Why it matters: The proposed move pulls the sitting director of national intelligence out of the intelligence community and into a White House AI policy role, directly tying the top U.S. intelligence official to the administration's AI agenda.
