- MoEngage acquired San Francisco-based Aampe in an all-cash deal worth tens of millions of dollars, with terms undisclosed publicly
- Aampe, founded in 2020, builds software that assigns a dedicated AI agent to each customer for personalized messaging and grew ARR by 150% over the past year across 30+ customers in the U.S., Europe, and Asia-Pacific
- Raviteja Dodda, MoEngage's co-founder and CEO, said a large share of the company's growth comes from enterprise migrations off Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Adobe Experience Cloud, with 3-4 multimillion-dollar switchover deals signed recently
- Around 20 Aampe employees will join MoEngage, bringing its workforce to roughly 820 people, and the deal lands six months after MoEngage raised $280 million in primary and secondary transactions
- Aampe had raised approximately $28 million across three funding rounds from Peak XV Partners, Z47, and Theory Ventures, and its customers include Swiggy, Grab, and Taxfix — some of which already use MoEngage's platform
- MoEngage currently serves more than 1,350 consumer brands across 75 countries in retail, financial services, media, and food delivery
Why it matters: MoEngage is directly targeting Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Adobe Experience Cloud migrations — it has already converted 3-4 multimillion-dollar switchover deals in the short term. Aampe's per-customer AI agent technology gives MoEngage a differentiator against two of the largest enterprise marketing platforms while Aampe's 150% ARR growth and overlapping clients (Swiggy, Grab) consolidate a shared customer base.
