US Patriot Stockpile Cut Two-Thirds by Iran War

- Gulf allies are reportedly firing four to eight Patriot interceptors at each incoming Iranian ballistic missile, compared with Ukraine's near one-to-one shootdown rate — a discipline developed over 4.5 years on roughly 600 missiles received total.
- France announced it will deliver two SAMP/T batteries — a French-Italian Patriot-like system — to Ukraine this year, and a joint US-Ukrainian effort to retrofit S-300 missiles is expected to come online by late 2026 at roughly 100-200 units per year.
- The US Army has reportedly expended essentially its entire ATACMS stockpile and nearly half of the next-generation PrSM missiles, according to Hamilton, who called the Gulf war's weapons consumption a "theater tax" on other potential conflict zones like Europe and the Indo-Pacific.
- European allies have even fewer remaining Patriots than the US because they donated heavily to Ukraine in the early years of the war, and the Patriot remains the only system produced in large numbers capable of reliably intercepting Russian ballistic missiles at high rates.
