- Google is replacing Gemini's "Gems" feature with a new "skills" system, with the migration scheduled to complete in November.
- The transition includes free access to the new skills feature, as highlighted in Google's own announcement and corroborated across multiple outlets.
Why it matters: Gemini users have until November to adapt to the replacement of Gems with the new skills system, and the free access provision preserves the capability for current Gems users who would otherwise lose a workflow they've built around it.
