- Sony Music Indonesia and Sun Eater Group have launched Lunar (formally PT Lunar Musik Indonesia), a joint-venture label targeting Indonesian artists with global ambitions, debuting with three acts.
- The initial roster features East Java-based Kecoud, unsigned songwriter Alee, and English-language pop artist Nandoshi (performing name of Ananda Alivia).
- Kecoud coined a genre he calls "Keroncong Hop," blending contemporary hip-hop with the Portuguese-influenced Javanese folk genre Keroncong, and currently draws 218,000 monthly Spotify listeners.
- Alee has no commercial release to his name, but a behind-the-scenes songwriting TikTok titled "(Untitled)" surpassed 1.2 million views and 221,000 likes.
- Sun Eater Group previously developed Hindia, Lomba Sihir and Feast, and positions Nandoshi as following Reality Club's path as an English-singing Indonesian crossover act compared to Dayglow, LANY and NIKI.
- Lunar plans to add three more artists by Q3 2026, targeting hyperlocal regional music, persona-driven online-first artists, and a "Halal Pop" lane.
Why it matters: Sony Music's global distribution paired with Sun Eater's indie development track record (Hindia, Lomba Sihir, Feast) gives Lunar a structural edge in scaling Indonesian acts internationally. The debut roster spans folk-hip-hop fusion, an unsigned viral songwriter, and English-language pop — with three more signings and a "Halal Pop" lane targeted by Q3 2026.
