Ample Launches YouTube Channel With Two True-Crime Series

- Ample Entertainment is launching "Ample Originals," a YouTube channel producing non-fiction originals, and becomes the latest non-scripted company to treat the Google-owned free streamer as a home for new IP.
- The channel will debut two series within three days of each other: "Ample Investigates" premiering August 7 and "Somebody Knows Something" premiering August 10.
- Ample Investigates will revisit the Isabella Gardner Museum Heist, The Murder of Seth Rich, the search for Jimmy Hoffa with investigative journalist Dan Moldea, and "The Night Doctor," a three-parter following Dr. William Husel, whom Mount Carmel Hospital accused of killing 34 patients.
- Somebody Knows Something is hosted by kidnapping survivor and true-crime influencer Kara Robinson Chamberlain and serves as a companion series to a Freeform show she also hosts.
- Ample already produces Netflix's "This Is the Zodiac Speaking" and "Amy Bradley Is Missing," Peacock's "Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy," ID's "Hollywood Demons," and HBO's "The Invisible Pilot," and previously made "Could You Survive the Movies?" for YouTube Originals.
- Ari Mark, CEO of Ample Entertainment, said the channel gives the company "another way to expand the reach of our storytelling" while complementing its broadcast and streaming partners.
Why it matters: Ample is expanding its distribution footprint to span every major streaming tier — Netflix, HBO, Peacock, ID, and now YouTube — putting the same producer's slate in front of both paying subscribers and a free, ad-supported audience. Two series premiering just three days apart (August 7 and August 10) marks a concrete push rather than a token gesture, and Ample's prior experience making content for the since-defunct YouTube Originals program shows this is a return to a platform that previously funded premium non-fiction.
