- New worldwide law changes include a five-second countdown and restart reversal for delayed throw-ins and goal kicks, a 10-second time limit for substitutes to enter, and VAR review of second yellow cards that result in a red
- 2026/27 Premier League season key dates: summer transfer window opens June 15, fixtures released June 19, opening weekend August 22-23, transfer deadline September 1, and final day May 30, 2027
Why it matters: The hair-pulling reclassification is a direct response to three red cards issued under last season's blanket ban, giving referees discretion to distinguish between trivial and forceful pulls.
