- Jeep confirmed to Electrek that the all-electric Recon SUV will launch in Europe in early 2027, pushing back against an AutoExpress report that claimed the launch had been scrapped.
- Stellantis plans to launch three new SUVs under the Jeep brand, including a D-segment flagship produced in China through a joint venture with Dongfeng using Dongfeng's platform and technology.
- The China-built flagship will be sold domestically and exported to Europe, with Jeep European boss Fabio Catone telling Autocar it will be "fully designed by Jeep" while leveraging the Chinese partner's industrial footprint — he compared the approach to "an iPhone model."
- The flagship SUV will be available with hybrid and pure electric powertrains, and may also be offered as a range-extended electric vehicle (REEV).
- The other two new models will be B-segment SUVs — one compact ("wider, much more SUV-style" than the current Avenger) and one larger, closer to a C-segment model sitting below the Compass.
- Both smaller SUVs will ride on Stellantis' new STLA One modular platform, the company's first to integrate STLA Brain, STLA SmartCockpit, and steer-by-wire technology, with BEV, hybrid, and PHEV variants planned.
- Wagoneer S plans for Europe have not been finalized, but Jeep said more information on the nameplate is coming soon.
Why it matters: Jeep is relying on a Dongfeng joint venture in China to build its largest new European SUV — a model Catone insists will be "fully designed by Jeep" — and then exporting it to Europe. With three new SUVs across B and D segments on the new STLA One platform, Jeep is broadening its European lineup beyond the higher-end models that have defined its presence there, betting Chinese-built volume can fuel that expansion.
