- AMD confirmed FSR 4.1 is expanding to Xbox Series S/X consoles, Radeon RX 6000-series GPUs, Ryzen AI laptops, and Xbox Ally and Ally X handhelds
- Radeon RX 6000-series GPUs and Ryzen AI Max 300/400 and Ryzen AI 9 300/400 devices receive FSR 4.1 today via Adrenalin Edition 26.10.1 drivers
- Xbox developers will get FSR 4.1 access "very soon" per Microsoft's Jason Ronald, while Xbox console owners face a slightly longer wait
- FSR 4.1 can improve performance in more than 300 supported games including Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield 6, and Assassin's Creed Shadows
- The rollout follows Sony and AMD's Project Amethyst work bringing Quick Spectral Super Resolution to base PS5; AMD's Jack Huynh said they "went back into the model" to tune and optimize FSR's code path
- Valve has not confirmed FSR 4.1 for the Steam Deck, but the Xbox Ally's Z2 A chip closely resembles the Deck's processor
- Xbox CTO Scott Van Vilet said teams are collaborating further on Project Helix, which will leverage FSR Diamond for next-gen rendering
Why it matters: The expansion gives older Radeon RX 6000-series owners and Xbox console players — especially the lower-powered Xbox Series S — access to AI-driven upscaling previously limited to RX 9000 hardware. The simultaneous AMD partnerships with both Xbox (FSR 4.1, Project Helix) and Sony (QSSR from Project Amethyst) position AMD as the shared upscaling supplier across competing console ecosystems.
