- Anwar Ibrahim said at a July 15 community event that any Israeli nationals confirmed at the Network School in Forest City will be deported, citing Malaysia's non-recognition of Israel.
- Anwar said relevant agencies, including the Higher Education Ministry, are investigating the allegations, and the minister will explain further.
- Johor Chief Minister Onn Hafiz Ghazi urged the Home Ministry to probe the Network School's operations, saying the state will not allow use of Johor as a base for activities against its law, sovereignty, or interests.
- Onn Hafiz said the investigation should examine participants' identities, nationalities, travel documents, alleged use of second passports, entry passes, and whether their activities matched the stated reasons for entering Malaysia.
- The Higher Education Ministry, Digital Ministry, and regulatory agencies have been asked to determine the school's actual operational status and whether its programmes required registration or approval under Malaysian law.
Why it matters: The investigation targets a foreign digital-nomad programme in Forest City, a major Johor development, and Johor authorities are widening the probe to include second passports and compliance with Malaysian registration rules — meaning the fallout could extend beyond any Israeli participants to the school's legal status itself.
