- Walmart+ is giving members a free Peacock subscription with no additional fees or restrictions, activated by clicking "Get Peacock" in the membership benefits section.
- Peacock raised its monthly price to $12.99 from $10.99 on Aug. 18 — marking the fourth price increase in four years for the NBCUniversal-owned streamer.
- Walmart+ is running a $1 first-month promotion (regularly $12.95/month), billed as a 92% savings, with members able to switch to an annual plan at $98 after the 30-day trial.
- Members who don't want Peacock can alternatively choose a free Paramount+ subscription, which includes CBS live sports such as NFL, UEFA Champions League and PGA coverage.
- The free Peacock offer is one of the only ways to get Peacock online for free, as the streamer does not offer a free trial unlike some competing services.
- The Walmart+ bundle also includes free delivery and returns, fuel discounts up to 10¢ per gallon at 13,000+ Exxon, Mobil, Walmart and Murphy USA stations, free tire repair at Walmart Auto Care Centers, and early access to Black Friday sales.
Why it matters: For Walmart+ subscribers, a streaming subscription that costs $12.99/month elsewhere is now folded into the $12.95/month membership — saving roughly $156/year over paying Peacock directly. The launch landing the same week Peacock announced its fourth hike in four years positions Walmart+ as a direct counter-play to streaming inflation, while Peacock trades standalone revenue for subscriber growth through a retail channel.
