Netflix's 'This Summer Will Be Different' Adds 6 to Cast

- Jordan Rodrigues, Jude Wilson, Natalie Brown, James Tupper, Tom Barnett, and Cecilia Owen have been cast as recurring players — Rodrigues as Miles Lam, Wilson as Zach, Brown as Christine, Tupper as Ken, Barnett as Peter, and Owen as Joy — joining previously announced leads Sophie Nélisse, Francesca Reale, and Roby Attal.
- Production on "This Summer Will Be Different" has begun on Prince Edward Island, with additional filming in Toronto, on a 10-episode order based on Carley Fortune's novel of the same name.

- Directors Karen Maine ("Nobody Wants This"), Jasmin Mozaffari ("Ginny & Georgia"), and Fab Filippo ("Sort Of") are attached to helm episodes, with Dane Clark and Linsey Steward serving as creators, showrunners, and executive producers.
- Fortune, who also executive produces, told The Hollywood Reporter she read the first episode script in early July and called the casting process "almost like matchmaking."
- Prime Video previously adapted Fortune's "Every Summer After" as the series "Every Year After," which premiered this June starring Matt Cornett and Sadie Soverall — making Fortune now a dual-streamer romance author.
