- Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild set its 14th annual MUAHS Awards ceremony for Saturday, February 20, 2027, at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles.
- Nominations will be announced Monday, December 21, covering work from the 2026 calendar year eligibility period.
- Submissions open Monday, September 21 (9 a.m. PT) and close Friday, November 6 (9 p.m. PT), followed by nominations voting from November 23 through December 14.
- Final online voting runs January 22 through February 7, 2027, closing just 13 days before the ceremony.
- IATSE Local 706, which runs the guild, recognizes achievements across motion pictures, television, TV specials, children and teen programming, commercials, music videos, and live theater.
- Frankenstein, Sinners, and One Battle After Another took top film honors at the February 2026 ceremony — Frankenstein went on to win Best Makeup & Hairstyling at the Academy Awards — while Saturday Night Live, The Studio, and Palm Royale won on the TV side.
Why it matters: The February 20 ceremony locks in the craft-categories awards calendar ahead of Oscar voting, giving make-up artists and hair stylists a five-month campaign runway from the September 21 submission deadline through the finale. With last year's MUAHS winner Frankenstein going on to take the Academy Award, the guild's picks carry real Oscar-precedent weight for the 2026 film cycle.
