- Al Jazeera probe exposed fake viewing numbers for an Israeli counter-film responding to the Gaza war documentary "NAZA."
- Netanyahu ordered the identification and prosecution of the documentary's interviewees after it sparked outrage in Israel.
Why it matters: The exposed fake viewership data undermines the credibility of Israel's counter-narrative campaign around "NAZA," while Netanyahu's prosecution order signals the government's intent to pursue Palestinians who testified on camera about their wartime experiences — a move that chills future testimony.
