- Sola Media is launching international sales at Cannes for "The Neverending Pillow Fort," an animated feature currently in production in Australia and based on Will Taylor's children's novel.
- Elizabeth Cullen (Elvis) and newcomer Sofia Rose lead the voice cast as best friends Maggie and Abby, joined by David Tennant, Guy Pearce, Teresa Palmer, and Marsai Martin in supporting roles.
- Allison Brownmoore, a BAFTA nominee for "The Amazing Adventures of Awesome," is directing from a screenplay by Dominic Morris alongside Gurinder Chadha and Paul Mayeda Berges.
- Crayola Studios serves as both producer and financier, with Alceon Entertainment Partners, Eclectik Vision, MIMO Studios, and Like A Photon Creative also producing and Screen Queensland's Post Digital and Visual rebate supporting production.
- The project reunites Sola Media with Like A Photon Creative and MIMO Studios after their collaboration on "The Pout-Pout Fish," an animated feature starring Nick Offerman, Miranda Otto, and Nina Oyama that released in the U.S. in March.
Why it matters: The Crayola Studios backing and Sola Media's reunion with Like A Photon Creative suggest continued buyer appetite for family-friendly animated features with recognizable voice casts at Cannes. With production already underway in Australia and Screen Queensland rebate support locked in, the project enters the market with financing in place rather than seeking it.
