EVgo to Deploy Hundreds of Tesla V4 Superchargers

- EVgo signed an agreement with Tesla through its Supercharger for Business program to deploy "hundreds" of EVgo-owned and EVgo-branded V4 Superchargers at US city locations, each with up to 20 stalls near stores and restaurants; construction starts this fall and the first sites open in the second half of 2026.
- Tesla's V4 Supercharger hardware can deliver up to 500 kW and support 400–1,000 volt vehicle architectures, with EVgo saying drivers could add up to 200 miles of range in 15 minutes.
- The new EVgo Superchargers will include Tesla's Magic Dock so NACS- and CCS-equipped EVs can plug in without an adapter, and Tesla vehicles will see them in their navigation and Trip Planner — giving EVgo visibility among millions of Tesla EVs on US roads.
- EVgo says demand across its network has climbed more than 700% over the last three years, and as of July 31 the company operated 240 NACS connectors, with more than 35 NACS-equipped EV models expected in the US by the end of 2026.
- Badar Khan, EVgo's CEO, said the deployment will "welcome more Tesla and NACS drivers to the EVgo network" as the company expands public fast-charging options.
- EVgo is separately developing its own next-generation charging system at its Innovation Lab in El Segundo, California, with the first units expected to be installed by the end of 2026.
Why it matters: EVgo gains privileged access to Tesla's in-vehicle navigation and Trip Planner, routing millions of Tesla drivers directly to EVgo-branded stations — a credibility and traffic boost that compounds a 700%+ demand surge on its network over the past three years and positions EVgo as the most visible third-party NACS operator in dense US markets.
