- Peacock has set Thursday, December 17 as the premiere date for Seth MacFarlane's Ted: The Animated Series.
- The series launches with eight episodes, with additional episodes slated to stream in 2027.
- Seth MacFarlane, Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, and Jessica Barth all return to reprise their roles from the 2012 and 2015 Ted films.
- New cast members Kyle Mooney and Liz Richman join as Apollo and Ruth, respectively.
- The series picks up 12 years after the 2015 film Ted 2, following John and Ted as neighbors with families and dead-end jobs navigating adult life.
- Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh co-showrun alongside MacFarlane; animation is by Rough Draft Studios, with production from UGT, Fuzzy Door, and MRC.
Why it matters: Peacock is deploying a MacFarlane-led animated continuation of the Ted franchise — a property that grossed over $750 million across its two theatrical films — as a holiday-season tentpole with an eight-episode initial order and a 2027 second window, signaling multi-season commitment rather than a limited revival.
