- Honda began production of the all-electric ProZision Autonomous ZTR mower in January at its 40-year-old US Power Equipment factory in North Carolina, with the machine first shown as a concept in 2023 now reaching dealers.
- The ProZision Autonomous uses GPS, LiDAR, radar, and 360-degree visual sensors to reproduce a teach-in cutting path within approximately 3 cm of accuracy, with landscapers driving the route once before the mower operates independently.
- The mower is available with 54" and 60" cutting decks, powered by a 48V battery system driving five brushless electric motors designed for high torque and longer runtimes.
- Pricing for the ProZision Autonomous starts at $32,999, and units may be eligible for local utility and government tax incentives, aimed at a roughly $2 billion domestic commercial lawnmower market.
- Honda built the mower to address tightening regulatory pressure on gas-powered equipment, noting that more than 100 US cities and counties have adopted restrictions or outright bans on gas-powered landscaping tools.
- Minoru Kato, General Manager of Motorcycle and Power Products Operations at Honda Power Equipment, said the product was developed to help landscaping businesses facing workforce shortages and an aging labor pool, tying the launch to Honda's 2050 carbon-neutrality target.
