- Rise Studios and Inter Medya have started shooting "Caged Love," the first TV series spawned by their recently forged strategic partnership, with both companies co-financing the high-end series for multi-platform global release.
- Canan Çelik directs "Caged Love," building on her track record of globally exported Turkish hits "Love Is in the Air" (2010) and "Heartstrings" (2025), with writers Zeynep Küçükerciyes and Ali Göğebakan.
- Eslem Akar ("Room for Love") and Mert Altınışık ("Limit") lead an ensemble cast that also includes Caner Kurtaran, Faruk Pakiş, Gül Arcan, Aslı Saçar, Hasan Ballıktaş, Berna Üçkaleler, and Pelin Orhuner.
- Rise Studios, headed by former Warner Bros. Discovery Middle East chief Amanda Turnbull, is Dubai-based and was set up in 2022, with a recent film slate spanning Annemarie Jacir's "Palestine 36," the Arab brothers' "Once Upon A Time In Gaza," and Hiam Abbas-starrer "Only Rebels Win."
- Inter Medya founder Can Okan framed the series as "the next chapter of our global co-production strategy," saying the partnership is designed to honor the global appeal of Turkish drama through high-quality storytelling.
Why it matters: The co-financing arrangement pairs a Dubai-based studio (Rise, founded 2022) led by a former Warner Bros. Discovery Middle East chief with veteran Turkish sales outfit Inter Medya, giving Inter Medya a Gulf-based capital and distribution partner inside the globally proven Turkish drama export market. With a director whose last two shows traveled internationally and a multi-platform release plan baked in, the project doubles as a proof of concept for how the two companies will split risk on future titles.
