Pony.ai targets 100,000 autonomous trucks by 2030

- Pony.ai plans to deploy 1,000 autonomous electric commercial trucks in China by 2027 across three use cases: long-haul freight, bulk commodity transportation, and port logistics.
- The company has set a longer-term goal of 100,000 L4 autonomous light-duty trucks by 2030, building on autonomous-truck development it has run in China and the Middle East since 2018.
- Pony.ai's Gen-4 heavy-duty autonomous truck cut autonomous-driving hardware costs by about 70% versus the prior generation, with more than 200 trucks already deployed since November 2025.
- Those deployed trucks have handled more than one billion tonne-kilometres of freight, generating Robotruck-driven revenue exceeding $10M in Q1 2026 — up more than 30% year-over-year.
- Production partner SANY will supply the platform; the truck is described as based on SANY's e263 4×2 electric semi tractor, featuring a 636 kWh LFP battery pack on an 800V architecture and dual-motor eAxle rated at 420 kW continuous / 730 kW peak.
