- Players Era split its 2026 slate into a 16-team event (Nov. 24-28, Las Vegas) and a separate eight-team event the week before (Nov. 17-19), replacing last year's confusing 18-team format and its hard-to-follow tiebreakers with conventional brackets.
- Players Era 16, ranked No. 1, includes 14 high-major teams plus Gonzaga and San Diego State, nine of the preseason AP Top 20, and every team except Kansas State inside KenPom's top 100; the bracket shared by Jake Brend via ESPN gives all 16 teams three guaranteed games, with four wins earning an additional $1 million.
- Players Era 8, staged Nov. 17-19 in Las Vegas, is headlined by preseason No. 1 Florida alongside Houston, Kansas, Auburn and Notre Dame; Matt Norlander reports Kansas is believed to be the most well-compensated of the 24 schools currently contracted with Players Era.
- Battle 4 Atlantis was left off the list despite keeping eight teams, scrapping its conventional bracket for two four-team pools: a fixed "Signature Series" of pre-determined games involving Virginia, Marquette, Texas A&M and Xavier, and a four-team "Championship Bracket" (Memphis vs. Penn State, Wake Forest vs. Mississippi State) in which no team plays a third game.
- Maui Invitational (Nov. 23-25, Lahaina) heads an eight-team bracket with Arizona and BYU; only two of last year's eight entrants, Texas and NC State, made the NCAA Tournament and both barely got in, while VCU vs. Providence is spotlighted as a potential at-large showcase.
- Rady Children's Invitational (Nov. 26-27, San Diego) pairs Texas with Georgetown and UCLA with Saint Mary's in a four-team bracket; UCLA beat Arizona in the season opener under Mick Cronin, who added Texas Tech transfer Jaylen Petty, while Sean Miller's Texas added five-star freshmen Marcus Spears Jr. and Austin Goosby plus transfers David Punch and Isaiah Johnson.
- Baha Mar Hoops Bahamas Championship (Nov. 19-20, Nassau) is one of the few remaining true tournaments — a four-team bracket with NC State vs. Murray State and Wisconsin vs. Seton Hall; Murray State brings a well-funded mid-major program against an ACC upstart under first-year coach Justin Gainey, and Seton Hall is chasing a return to the NCAA Tournament after a 21-12 record.
Why it matters: Players Era replaced last year's 18-team tiebreaker mess with two brackets, and the Players Era 16 offers an additional $1 million for four wins while guaranteeing all 16 teams three games. Nine AP top-20 teams and 15 of 16 teams inside KenPom's top 100 concentrate the field in Las Vegas, leaving the Battle 4 Atlantis without a bracket to compete.
