- Webtoon Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation announced four new animated titles based on popular Webtoon webcomics as part of their strategic partnership.
- Webtoon Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation previously agreed last fall to co‑produce 10 fan‑favorite Webtoon webcomics for global distribution across romance, fantasy, action and comedy genres.
- XUANN's "The Wolf & Red Riding Hood", along with unfins's "Vampire Family", Little Melon's "Sable Curse", and M. Nires's "Snow and Briar (And The Mirror of Seven Sins)" are the four new webcomics slated for animation.
- David J. Lee (CFO) and Sam Register (president) revealed the news at a panel during Web Summit Vancouver 2026.
- Webtoon Entertainment will ensure that the creators of the original webcomics retain IP ownership and will receive a share of revenue from the animated projects.
- Warner Bros. Animation has not yet disclosed whether each title will be a film or series, nor set release dates.
Why it matters: The agreement gives Webtoon creators a direct revenue stake in the animated adaptations while supplying Warner Bros. Animation with fresh IP for worldwide audiences, potentially boosting both companies’ content pipelines and diversifying the streaming market across romance, fantasy, action and comedy genres.
