- Paper Route Studios quietly launched in Toronto in June, founded by Dave Harris, Corey Russell, Jamie MacKay, and Blair Vermette — veterans with collective credits across Prime Video, Netflix, Crave, and major music acts.
- The Toronto-based company will focus on premium documentary film and series, commercials and brand campaigns, branded stories, and full-service Canadian production for U.S. and international studios and producers.
- Paper Route plans to package Canada's federal and provincial tax credit systems for third-party clients, alongside experienced crews and production capabilities spanning development through delivery.
- Documentary projects are already in development or production with CBC, ESPN, and Hulu; team members are also delivering programs to Prime Video, Netflix, Crave, and NHL Original Productions.
- Paper Route delivered "The World Lives Here," a cinematic TSN campaign tied to the FIFA World Cup and narrated by Kiefer Sutherland.
- Dave Harris spent 25+ years in artist management for Foo Fighters and John Mayer at BMG and Sony Music, founded Shed Creative (sold to Universal Music Group in 2022), and now runs music-focused production house 86 Media House.
Why it matters: Paper Route's pitch to U.S. and international studios is concrete: full-service Canadian production paired with access to Canada's federal and provincial tax credit systems, a concrete incentive structure the founders plan to pass through to clients. With all four founders already delivering to Netflix, Prime Video, ESPN, Hulu, and TSN, the studio enters the market with an established book of business rather than starting cold.
