- Energy Networks Association said around 90,000 properties remained without power on Monday; sustained winds of 50–85 mph across parts of Scotland and northern England hampered restoration and kept engineers from safely replacing poles and reconnecting wires.
- Storm Boelo caused flooding and property damage before two men were killed by falling trees on Sunday: a man in his 20s in north London and a 60-year-old man in Dumfries and Galloway.
- Met Office issued yellow wind warnings from 18:00 Monday to 03:00 Tuesday for west-coast England, Wales, Scotland and eastern Northern Ireland, followed by a warning covering much of Scotland and parts of northern England and Northern Ireland from 03:00 to 23:59 Tuesday.
- Wax Lyrical said its factory and shop in Lyndal, Cumbria, would be without power until Tuesday evening, forcing it to turn away employees and customers and lose two days of manufacturing and distribution during its busiest pre-Christmas period.
- Network Rail said the Crianlarich–Oban and Inverness–Wick and Thurso lines remained closed on Monday while restoration continued, although ScotRail said the vast majority of its services were running normally.
- CalMac said some ferry services could be cancelled at short notice, while NorthLink Ferries advised passengers of possible disruption through Thursday.
- Leo Slade said the UK's power network was highly resilient but called for debate over how much additional investment was needed to mitigate further storms brought by climate change.
Why it matters: For Wax Lyrical, the outage through Tuesday evening means two days of manufacturing and distribution lost during its busiest pre-Christmas period, with employees and customers turned away. That makes Storm Boelo a direct operating disruption for the Lyndal manufacturer, not just part of a wider UK cleanup.
