Fred Tsui Named HKIFFS Executive Director

- HKIFFS named Fred Tsui as its new executive director, succeeding Albert Lee, with the appointment taking effect September 23 and reporting to chairman Wilfred Wong and the Board of Directors.
- Tsui will oversee the Hong Kong International Film Festival, Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), HAF Film Lab, Summer International Film Festival and the HKIFF Cine Fan programme.
- Tsui spent more than 20 years at Media Asia Film as General Manager and Head of International Sales & Co-Production before founding Moebius Entertainment, a sales and festival consultancy whose recent titles include Venice Horizons selection Big Little Things and Toronto Special Presentations pick Happily Ever After.
- Tsui holds prior senior management roles at PCCW and Asia Television and currently sits on the Hong Kong Film Development Council, is an AMPAS member, and has served on the boards of the Independent Film & Television Alliance and MIA International Audiovisual Market in Rome.
- Chairman Wilfred Wong called Tsui 'uniquely qualified to lead HKIFFS into its next chapter,' citing his bridge-building between Hong Kong cinema and the global marketplace.
