- Kia unveiled the PV7 electric van for the first time at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany — its second PBV van after the PV5 — with Korea and Europe launches slated for H2 2027.
- The PV7 measures 5,350 mm (17.55 ft) long on a 3,500 mm wheelbase, out-sizing the PV5 (4,695 mm) and the long-wheelbase Volkswagen ID. Buzz (4,962 mm).
- Two NCM battery packs are offered — 71.5 kWh and 96.2 kWh — with the Long Range Cargo delivering over 460 km (285 miles) on WLTP and an 800V architecture enabling a 10–80% charge in roughly 25 minutes on a 350 kW DC fast charger.
- The PV7 Cargo offers up to 6.1 cubic meters of space (8 cubic meters in the High Roof variant), max payloads of 1,165–1,200 kg, and fits up to three Euro pallets with a dedicated heavy-load driving mode.
- The Passenger version seats up to nine globally (11 in Korea), with configurable Long-Rail Easy Remove Seats and Hyundai's Pleos Connect infotainment running twin 12.9″ and 14.6″ displays.
- Kia plans 23 PV7 variants over the coming years — including compact, long, and high-roof Cargo trims, compact and long Passenger trims, a Chassis Cab, and conversion models built on the modular flat-floor architecture.
- The PV5, already Europe's top-selling small electric van, starts at roughly $30,300 in Korea and €38,390 ($44,200) in Germany — a pricing foothold Kia looks to extend upmarket with the larger PV7.
Why it matters: Kia is scaling its modular PBV playbook upmarket with a 23-variant PV7 lineup and 800V fast charging, targeting fleet buyers with features uncommon at this size. That includes a Chassis Cab variant and 350 kW charging capability that give the PV7 a direct edge over the Volkswagen ID. Buzz ahead of its late-2027 European launch.
