- Kia unveiled the PV7 electric van at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Germany — its second all-electric PBV following the PV5, aimed at capturing share in the light commercial vehicle market.
- PV7 measures 5,350 mm (17.55 ft) long with a 3,500 mm wheelbase, making it larger than the PV5 (4,695 mm) and longer than the long-wheelbase Volkswagen ID. Buzz (4,962 mm).
- Battery options include 71.5 kWh and 96.2 kWh NCM packs, with the Long Range Cargo delivering 460+ km (285 mi) of WLTP range; the 800V architecture enables a 10–80% charge in roughly 25 minutes on a 350 kW DC fast charger.
- Powertrain sends up to 268 hp (200 kW) and 309 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque to the front wheels (FWD standard, AWD planned), with maximum payload rated at up to 1,200 kg for the compact Cargo model.
- Passenger variant seats up to 9 globally (11 in Korea) with optional Long-Rail Easy Remove Seats; Cargo offers up to 6.1 cubic meters of space, expandable to 8 cubic meters in the High Roof variant.
- Kia plans to roll out 23 PV7 variants over the coming years — Cargo (compact, long, high roof), Passenger (compact, long), Chassis Cab, and conversion models — launching first in Korea and Europe in H2 2027.
Why it matters: With the PV5 already Europe's top-selling small electric van, Kia is using the PV7 to push deeper into the light commercial vehicle and shuttle segments with 23 planned variants, a 460+ km range, and a 1,200 kg payload capacity launching in H2 2027 — directly challenging the long-wheelbase Volkswagen ID. Buzz.
