- Expectation has hired Katrina Grant as Director of Development, Entertainment, tasking her with securing greenlights for talent-led shows, reality TV, gameshows, factual entertainment, and unscripted comedy in the UK and internationally.
- Grant joins from Sarah Tyekiff-led Mettlemouse Entertainment, whose recent credits include Channel 4's The Honesty Box — set for a Spanish remake — and Spencer Matthews: Am I a Psychopath?
- Grant will co-develop formats with Expectation affiliate Plegazoid, the David Flynn-led company that recently won the competitive tender to produce the next unscripted series from the BBC/NBCUniversal pact behind The Traitors and Destination X.
- Expectation's slate includes Clarkson's Farm (Prime Video, now in five seasons), The Dyers' Caravan Park (Sky), Alan Carr: Castle Man (Hulu/Disney+), and Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home (BBC).
- Grant previously spent nine years at Hungry Bear Media, winning commissions for Michael McIntyre's The Wheel, Michael McIntyre's Big Show, Bradley Walsh & Son: Breaking Dad, and Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof, and earlier worked on Gogglebox, The Only Way Is Essex, and Geordie Shore.
- Expectation was launched in 2017 by Peter Fincham and Tim Hincks, with BBC Studios holding a minority stake.
Why it matters: Expectation is bolstering its formats team just as it and Plegazoid won the high-profile BBC/NBCUniversal tender behind The Traitors and Destination X. Grant's nine-year Hungry Bear run commissioning Michael McIntyre's The Wheel and her Mettlemouse credits signal Expectation is leaning into proven talent-led, reality, and gameshow formats for UK and international buyers.
