- Kia sold 8,567 EV2 units in the first half of 2026, with over 8,000 delivered between May and July alone after orders opened in mid-April.
- In June, the EV2 became Kia's second-best-selling electric vehicle in Europe, behind the EV3 SUV.
- Kia prices the EV2 at €26,600 ($30,500) in Germany and £24,245 ($32,500) for the UK Air long edition, which includes the £3,750 Electric Clean Car Grant; leases run as low as €199/month.

Why it matters: The EV2's 8,000-plus sales in three months validate Kia's bet on a Europe-designed, Europe-built affordable EV, and its sub-£25,000 453 km range claim directly undercuts the BYD Dolphin Surf's 137-mile range. By keeping the EV2 out of the US and slotting the EV3 in at $29,890 instead, Kia is segmenting its affordable EV lineup by region rather than offering one global model.
