- The test vehicle was plugged in via NACS without an adapter, with the charge port located in the rear center — a configuration that could signal Porsche is moving away from its current dual-port setup (NACS for DC plus J1772 for AC) on smaller sports cars.
- Porsche CEO Michael Leiters confirmed in August the 718 EV will be built, calling it "the best solution economically and will be a fantastic car," after earlier rumors suggested the project was on the chopping block amid broader Western automaker EV pullbacks.
- The 718 EV will share a platform with Audi's TT, allowing Audi — which never wavered on its EV commitment — to co-develop the architecture with Porsche.
