Your gas car works fine. Consider an EV anyway, scientists say.

With EVs paying back their manufacturing emissions in well under 4,500 miles of annual driving and the U.S. grid trending greener, the emissions math for retiring gas cars early keeps improving — though Campbell acknowledges the paper doesn't address EVs' higher upfront cost.
