- Volkswagen will introduce the ID. Up! in 2027 at around €20,000 as one of nine planned models, below the base ID. Polo and ID. Cross prices of €24,995 and €27,995.
- ID. Up! is planned at 3,880 mm—between the former Up! at 3,600 mm and ID. Polo at 4,053 mm—with space for four passengers and 305 liters of luggage.
- ID. EVERY1 was revealed last March as the concept preview; Volkswagen says its production version will use a 70 kW motor, top 130 km/h and deliver at least 250 km of range.
- Thomas Schäfer called the ID. EVERY1 “the last piece of the puzzle” and said Volkswagen aims to offer the widest selection in the volume segment.
- ID. Polo’s 37 kWh version delivers up to 334 km WLTP; the smaller EV is expected to use the same 37 kWh LFP battery to keep costs down.
- Electric Urban Car Family combines the ID. Polo, ID. Cross, Cupra Raval and Skoda Epiq on one MEB+ platform and secured nearly 150,000 orders after series production began in June.
- ID. Tiguan is planned for 2027 as the ID.4 replacement, while U.S. buyers will miss the new entry-level EV.
Why it matters: Volkswagen’s planned €20,000 model is about €5,000 below the €24,995 ID. Polo while still targeting at least 250 km of range and 305 liters of storage. That creates a clearer price challenge for BYD in compact EVs, though Volkswagen still has to substantiate the roughly €20,000 figure and confirm production details.
