- Hyundai launched the updated IONIQ 6 at a Thursday event in Turkey, featuring slim DRLs, wing-shaped rear chrome garnish, and an extended ducktail spoiler yielding a 0.21 drag coefficient
- The updated IONIQ 6 offers WLTP ranges of up to 422 miles (680 km) on the 84 kWh battery and 323 miles (521 km) on the 63 kWh pack; its 800-volt architecture supports 10–80% DC charging in about 18 minutes at up to 350 kW
- The interior now carries dual 12.3-inch panoramic curved displays with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a redesigned two-tone leather steering wheel, a digital side mirror, and a bridge-type center console with physical window controls
- Turkish pricing starts at 2,482,000 TRY ($52,100); in Germany the facelift runs from about 45,750 euros ($52,700), with the N-Line performance variant at 58,300 euros ($67,200)
- Hyundai separately announced mass production of the IONIQ 3 — its first compact IONIQ EV — will begin mid-August at its Izmit, Turkey plant
- The standard IONIQ 6 has been discontinued for the US market, leaving only the high-performance IONIQ 6 N on track for American release by the end of 2026
- New equipment includes Smart Regenerative System 3.0 (which adjusts regen braking using navigation data), Hyundai Digital Key 2.0, V2L, and the Hyundai SmartSense 1 driver-assist suite
Why it matters: US buyers are locked out of the refreshed IONIQ 6 entirely — Hyundai quietly discontinued the standard model stateside, leaving only the performance IONIQ 6 N due by end of 2026. For European and Turkish buyers, a 422-mile EV starting under $53,000 directly undercuts most long-range competitors on both price and range.
