Toyota announces 2027 bZ prices start at $35,000

- Toyota priced the 2027 bZ at $34,980 for the base XLE FWD, with US deliveries starting in September and a $1,595 delivery fee pushing the out-the-door starting price to $36,576.
- The 2027 bZ lineup spans XLE and Limited trims in FWD and AWD configurations, powered by either a 57.7 kWh or 74.7 kWh battery pack; AWD models produce a combined 338 hp, while FWD models deliver 165 hp (XLE FWD) or 221 hp (FWD Plus and Limited FWD).
- The base XLE FWD is EPA-rated for up to 236 miles of range, while the FWD Plus model extends that to 314 miles for $37,980 before the delivery fee.
- The 2027 bZ ships with a built-in NACS charge port, enabling direct access to Tesla Superchargers without an adapter, plus battery preconditioning for cold-weather charging, Plug & Charge payment, and a roughly 30-minute 10-to-80% recharge.
- Inside the cabin, the 2027 bZ gains a 14-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual Qi wireless phone chargers, ambient lighting, a 7-inch customizable instrument cluster, and Toyota Digital Key smartphone access.
- The Limited trim adds 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic fixed-glass moonroof, heated rear seats, SofTex-trimmed seating, and a digital rearview mirror over the standard XLE.
- The bZ ranked as America's fourth top-selling EV in the first half of the year, and Toyota is offering discounts on remaining 2026 models to clear inventory ahead of the September arrival.
Why it matters: By keeping the 2027 bZ's starting price at $34,980 — essentially unchanged from the 2026 model — while upgrading range to 236 miles base and adding a native NACS port, Toyota undercuts much of the EV field on entry pricing and removes the adapter friction that limited Tesla Supercharger convenience for non-Tesla owners.
