- Mercedes GLA EV image leaked online a day before its scheduled July 29 debut, shared by Cochespias, showing a redesigned grille and new headlights with three-pointed star detailing
- GLA Electric drops the previous EQA name while the gas-powered model retains the GLA badge, with the EV built on the same MMA (Mercedes Modular Architecture) platform as the new CLA EV
- MMA platform underpins the GLA EV with 800V architecture and an 85 kWh NMC battery pack, supporting ultra-fast charging and at least 400 miles of WLTP range
- MB.OS infotainment system debuts as the first to integrate AI from both Microsoft and Google, running a 14" central screen, a 10.24" driver cluster, and an optional 14" passenger display
- GLA EV will launch in two trims: the rear-wheel-drive 250+ with 268 hp and 247 lb-ft of torque, and the all-wheel-drive 350 4MATIC with 349 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque

The MB.OS system being the first to fold both Microsoft's and Google's AI into a single cabin — not one or the other — sets a precedent as automakers race to make infotainment the next AI-assistant battleground.
