- 2027 Hyundai IONIQ 5 base price rises $250 to $35,250 for the SE Standard Range, which offers an EPA-estimated 245 miles of range.
- Extended-range SE RWD starts at $37,750 ($250 more than 2026) with up to 318 miles of range, while SEL climbs $400 to $40,200, XRT rises $250 to $46,525, and Limited adds $150 to reach $49,125.
- IONIQ 5 N pricing for 2027 has not been announced, though Hyundai cut the 2026 model's base price by $6,300 last month to $59,900.
- Hyundai sold the IONIQ 5 as the third best-selling EV in the US during the first half of 2026, trailing only the Tesla Model Y and Model 3.
- 2027 IONIQ 5 remains roughly $2,000 cheaper than the Tesla Model Y RWD ($39,990, up to 321 miles of range) and is priced comparably to the 2027 Toyota bZ and Chevy Equinox EV.
- 2027 model is a carryover with roof rails now available across all trims and standard on SEL and above, and Hyundai is dropping Gravity Gold Matte and Sage Silver Matte paint options.
- Kia EV3, Hyundai's sister brand, undercuts the IONIQ 5 with a 2027 starting price of $30,000, though the IONIQ 5 is larger and more powerful.
Why it matters: Even with the $250 base hike, the IONIQ 5 still undercuts the Tesla Model Y by roughly $2,000. Hyundai had slashed 2026 trims by up to $9,800 to absorb the loss of the $7,500 federal EV tax credit, so this modest increase partially walks back that aggressive discounting rather than signaling a broader price reset.
