- UK Met Office recorded 36.1C in Gosport, Hampshire, breaking the UK's all-time June temperature record and surpassing the previous 35.6C set at Camden Square, London in 1957.
- Météo-France logged France's hottest day since records began in 1947, with the national heat index hitting 30C — exceeding the prior record of 29.4C set during the 2003 and 2019 heatwaves.
- WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus warned the heatwave is "putting lives at risk" and said European temperatures are rising at roughly twice the global average rate, urging faster action on the climate emergency.
