- Projected decline in Chinese arrivals could extend into next year's Chinese New Year.
- The Chinese embassy's warning to mainland citizens concerns fraudulent job offers and suspected trafficking in the country.
- Government clarification with the Chinese embassy is the condition the Association says would avert the projected prolonged decline.
Why it matters: Thai travel agents face a potential halving of Chinese arrivals, with the decline extending into next year's Chinese New Year if the government does not clarify the fraud-and-trafficking warning with the Chinese embassy, according to the Association of Thai Travel Agent.
