BYD undercuts luxury rivals with its first 7-seat premium MPV in the UK

- BYD's Denza opened UK orders for the D9 MPV at £75,000 ($101,000) for the Elegance trim and £85,000 ($115,000) for the Ultimate, undercutting the Lexus LM hybrid which starts at £97,645 ($131,500)
- The Denza D9 uses a Super Hybrid DM-i AWD powertrain pairing a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with two electric motors (227 hp front, 60 hp rear) and a 58.5 kWh battery delivering 130 miles of pure electric range and up to 590 miles combined
- BYD's Flash Charging technology recharges the D9's battery from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes, with a 10% to 97% top-up taking 9 minutes — or 12 minutes at -30°C
- The D9's interior features a 15.6-inch floating infotainment screen with Google built-in, a 10.25-inch instrument panel, leather-trimmed seats, a panoramic glass roof, and a built-in cooler/heater
- Ultimate trim upgrades add zero-gravity second-row seats with 14-way adjustment, a 16-point massage function, recline up to 152 degrees, plus a 12-inch head-up display and rear-seat entertainment screens
- The 7-seat layout provides 430–570 liters of boot space with all seats up, expanding to 2,310 liters in four-seat mode
