- Subaru Trailseeker became the brand's best-selling electric SUV last month, outselling both the Solterra and the Uncharted just months after going on sale
- 2027 Subaru Trailseeker pricing holds at $39,995 for the base Premium, stepping up to $43,995 for the Limited and $46,555 for the range-topping Touring trim
- Trailseeker delivers 375 combined horsepower, sprints from 0–60 mph in 4.3 seconds, and is now Subaru's quickest production vehicle ever sold in the US
- The electric SUV carries an 8.3-inch ground clearance, standard Symmetrical AWD, X-MODE Dual Mode, and a 3,500-pound tow rating
- Trailseeker runs a 74.7 kWh battery delivering up to 281 miles of range, with a standard NACS charge port and 150 kW DC fast charging that takes the pack from 10% to 80% in roughly 28 minutes
- Tesla Model Y AWD starts at $41,990 with an EPA-estimated 294-mile range, compared to the Trailseeker's $39,995 base price and 281-mile ceiling
- Subaru also announced the smaller 2027 Uncharted EV will start at $35,000, slotting below the Trailseeker in the lineup
Why it matters: For sub-$40K EV shoppers who want AWD and real towing capacity, the Trailseeker undercuts the Tesla Model Y AWD by roughly $2,000 at entry while delivering 3,500 lbs of tow rating and 8.3 inches of ground clearance — a combination that simply didn't exist in Subaru's electric lineup a year ago and that directly pressures Tesla on the spec sheet buyers actually cross-shop.
