- Z9 GT will get a new tri-motor variant launching in China on September 9 at an estimated ~339,800 yuan (~$50,000), filling the pricing gap between the Performance and Flagship RWD trims.
- According to Denza general manager Li Hui, the Z9 GT has been China's top-selling luxury GT for several consecutive months, and the new variant was added in response to customer feedback.
- The new variant pairs BYD's Blade Battery 2.0 with Flash Charging tech that recharges the battery from 10% to 70% in as little as 5 minutes, sitting on the e3 platform with three motors producing 850 kW (1,140 hp).
- Z9 GT delivers up to 1,036 km (643 miles) of CLTC range — a "world's longest pure electric driving range" claim by Denza — and measures 5,195 mm long, roughly Porsche Panamera-sized.
- BYD already sells the Z9 GT in Europe starting at €115,000 ($134,500) in Germany, with current markets Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the UK, expanding to 30 countries by the end of 2026.
Why it matters: At roughly $50,000, the new tri-motor Z9 GT undercuts BYD's existing e3 Performance variant (~$55,000) by about $5,000 while still delivering 1,140 hp and 5-minute 10–70% charging, putting a high-performance luxury GT into a Chinese price band historically dominated by internal-combustion rivals — though BYD has yet to confirm whether the cheaper trim will reach Europe.
