BYD unveils its latest luxury EV with sleek fastback styling and 570 miles of range

- Denza, BYD's premium sub-brand, unveiled the new Z9S electric sedan on Friday, calling it a "technologically advanced luxury intelligent sedan" with a sleek fastback design debuting in a new Dawn Purple color.
- The Z9S measures 5,090mm long, 1,980mm wide, and 1,490mm tall with a 3,025mm wheelbase, slightly smaller than the existing Z9 GT, and features dual star-shaped headlights and a closed-off grille.
- Single-motor Z9S variants deliver up to 571 miles (920 km) of CLTC range from a 102.326 kWh battery pack, with rear-mounted outputs of 429 hp (320 kW) or up to 496 hp (370 kW).
- A tri-motor Z9S variant listed on AutoHome produces nearly 1,200 hp (890 kW) combined, though it was not included in the regulatory filing approved earlier this year.
- The Z9S cabin runs BYD's next-generation AI-powered Intelligent Cockpit, featuring a floating center infotainment screen, slim instrument cluster, physical buttons below the center console, and a separate rear seat control screen in the center armrest.
- The Z9S launch follows the Denza Z electric supercar's Goodwood FOS debut, which offers 1,582 hp combined, hits 0-62 mph in 1.96 seconds, and exceeded 1,000 global pre-orders in just days at a UK starting price of £142,900 ($192,000).
