- Sony Pictures Television created the new EVP, Distribution, Digital and Social Platforms role and named Lauren Glaubach to it, tasking her with driving the studio's expansion across YouTube and other digital platforms for both film and television content
- Glaubach reports to newly named Distribution & Presidents of the Networks Jason Spivak and Paul Littmann, whose appointments followed the announced year-end retirement of distribution and networks co-president Mike Wald after three decades with the company
- Glaubach joins SPT from Pinterest, where she was VP, Head of Global Content Partnerships overseeing the platform's content producer network, and previously spent more than a decade at YouTube, most recently as Director, Global Head of Kids & Family Content Partnerships & Programming
- During her YouTube tenure, Glaubach managed a partner portfolio of more than 500 channels spanning traditional media and YouTube-first creators, and built a creator ecosystem across YouTube Kids, Supervised Experiences and the main app
- SPT cited recent digital momentum including the Jeopardy! YouTube Edition Volume 2 announcement, the launch of Reading Rainbow on YouTube, and a newly announced partnership with Professor Brian Cox to develop premium original digital content
- Glaubach holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.A. from Princeton University, and earlier in her career held strategy and brand management roles at The Walt Disney Company and BloomSpot
Why it matters: Glaubach arrives with direct operational ties to the two platforms — YouTube and Pinterest — where short-form and social video increasingly eat into the cable-and-streaming time Sony Pictures Television has historically monetized. Her hire lands in the same month SPT loses a 32-year distribution veteran and splits that function under two new co-presidents, making this less a routine exec addition than the front edge of a leadership reset built around digital.
