Kia PV5 Grabs 37% of Europe's Small Electric Van Market

- Kia PV5 holds a 37% share of Europe's small (C-segment) electric van market, ranking as the best-seller in 12 countries including the UK and Germany, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).
- PV5 Cargo is the best-selling electric van in the UK so far in 2026, with 3,239 units registered through July, compared with 1,141 PV5 Passenger models.
- Kia sold more than 1,000 electric vans in the UK in July alone — 784 PV5 Cargo and 235 PV5 Passenger — pushing the brand to third in the UK's electric light commercial vehicle market.
- Kia UK was the country's best-selling EV brand in July with 3,731 registrations, supported by its full lineup of EV2, EV3, EV4, EV5, EV6, EV9, and the PV5.
- Kia is expanding the PV5 range with a 7-seater (2-2-3), Prime, and Cargo High Roof variant, while planning the larger PV7 for 2027 and the PV9 by 2030, targeting 232,000 PBV sales by decade's end.
- Paul Philpott, Kia UK's president and CEO, said the 'rapid rise of the PV5' and upcoming EV2 deliveries should sustain momentum through the rest of 2026.
Why it matters: In its first year on sale, the PV5 grabbed more than a third of Europe's small electric van segment and made Kia the UK's top-selling EV brand in July — giving a new entrant a dominant position in a commercial-fleet category where incumbents have historically held entrenched share. With a 232,000-unit PBV target by 2030 and three more van model lines planned, Kia is converting early PV5 traction into a sustained commercial-vehicle foothold rather than a one-off hit.
