- Kia PV5 captured 37% of Europe's small electric van (C-segment) market and ranks as the best-seller in 12 countries, according to ACEA figures cited in the report.
- The PV5 posted its strongest sales in the UK (3,361 units) and Germany (2,206 units), while also topping all-engine van sales in Denmark (1,222), the Netherlands (1,196), Norway (739), and Sweden (1,414).
- In five countries, the PV5 already holds over 50% of electric C-segment van sales: Denmark (63%), Ireland (62%), Sweden (59%), Finland (58%), and the UK (54%).
- Kia Europe COO Sjoerd Knipping called the customer response "overwhelming," saying the PV5 is "adding new value across mobility" beyond just sales performance.
- The PV5 Cargo set a Guinness World Record in October after driving 693.38 km (430.84 miles) on a single charge, demonstrating real-world efficiency on the E-GMP.S platform.
- Kia UK sold over 1,000 electric vans in a single month for the first time in July (784 PV5 Cargo, 235 PV5 Passenger), making Kia the UK's best-selling EV brand that month with 3,731 registrations.
- Kia is launching new PV5 variants — a 7-seater (2-2-3), Prime, and Cargo High Roof — with the larger PV7 van arriving next year and the PV9 by 2030, as the company targets 232,000 PBV sales by decade's end.
Why it matters: Kia captured 37% of Europe's small electric van market in roughly six months after launching the PV5, and in five countries it already controls over half of C-segment EV van sales. With a 7-seater, High Roof, and PV7 follow-on coming, Kia is establishing purpose-built vehicles as a third EV pillar alongside its passenger lineup, taking share in a commercial segment long dominated by Ford, Stellantis, and Volkswagen.
