- Hyundai opened European orders for the Staria Electric van, starting at €57,450 (~$66,500) in Germany for the base Trend 9-seater, with leases from €489/month.
- The Staria Electric uses an 84 kWh battery paired with a 160 kW (218 hp) front motor, delivering up to 430 km (267 miles) of WLTP range and 10–80% charging in roughly 20 minutes via 800V architecture at a 350 kW DC fast-charger.
- At 5,253 mm long, Hyundai's electric van is about 200 mm longer than the IONIQ 9 and offers 7- and 9-seat configurations with up to 1,303 liters of luggage capacity plus a 24-liter frunk.
- Three trims are on offer: Trend 9-seater (€57,450), Prime 9-seater (€63,350) with electric sliding doors and Highway Assistant 1.5, and range-topping Calligraphy 7-seater (€66,950) with Nappa leather and relaxation seats.
- Hyundai is also accepting orders for the IONIQ 3, its smallest and first compact EV from the IONIQ lineup, starting at €28,950 with leases as low as €209/month.
- Neither the Staria Electric nor the IONIQ 3 will come to the US: the gas Staria is not sold there, and the IONIQ 3 is designed and built specifically for Europe.
- The Staria Electric first appeared at January's Brussels Motor Show and launched in South Korea earlier this year before this European rollout.
Why it matters: European large-family and shuttle buyers gain a roomier, long-range 9-seat EV option than the Kia PV5 or VW ID. Buzz, with €57,450 undercutting premium competitors. US shoppers are explicitly shut out — Hyundai confirms neither the Staria Electric nor the sub-€30k IONIQ 3 will cross the Atlantic, leaving the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9 as its only American EVs.
