- Xiaomi launched its SkyNomad SUV family in China with four extended-range models starting at RMB 209,900 (~$31,275), undercutting the Li Auto L9 and AITO M9, which both start above RMB 250,000.
- The lineup spans the N70 Pro ($31,275, 5-seat RWD), N70 Max ($35,745), N90 Max ($40,215, 7-seat), and N90 Max Studio ($44,685) — Xiaomi confirmed all pricing at its fall launch event after the July unveiling.
- The N90 Max Studio features a factory-integrated electric pop-up roof that raises 100 mm and opens a two-level loft with headroom for someone up to 1.8 meters tall, plus a 30-inch projector screen and a second row that folds into a 1.87-meter bed in 30 seconds.
- The SkyNomad is Xiaomi's first extended-range vehicle (EREV), pairing a battery with a gasoline range extender — a departure from its all-electric SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV, and a bet on the setup dominating China's family-SUV market.
- The N90 Max posts 464 km of pure-electric CLTC range and 1,705 km combined — Xiaomi says enough to drive Shanghai to Beijing without stopping — and every model in the lineup comes standard with an NVIDIA Thor assisted-driving chip, LiDAR, and radar on Xiaomi's new Kunlun platform.
Why it matters: Xiaomi's RMB 209,900 starting price lands well below Li Auto's and AITO's EREV flagships (both above RMB 250,000), extending the company's Tesla-undercutting playbook from the YU7 into the dominant family-SUV segment. A comparable three-row electric SUV runs $60,000+ in the US, but Xiaomi confirms the SkyNomad is China-only for now, with Europe targeted next year.
