- BYD's Denza sub-brand revealed UK pricing for the Denza Z at Goodwood FOS: Coupe at £142,900 ($192,000), Spider at £159,900 ($215,000), and Racing at £172,900 ($232,000)
- All Denza Z variants combine three electric motors for a total 1,582 hp; the Racing variant with optional semi-slick tires hits 0-62 mph in 1.96 seconds and a 217 mph top speed
- The Denza Z debuts BYD's e3 platform, which includes China's first fully in-house-developed steer-by-wire system and an 800V Flash Charging architecture that recharges the 76 kWh Blade Battery 2.0 from 10% to 70% in roughly five minutes
- Denza Z WLTP ranges span 410 km (Coupe), 400 km (Spider), and 380 km (Racing), while Disus-M magnetorheological suspension lets the car absorb or jump over bumps, or 'dance'
- The Denza Z Coupe undercuts the Porsche 911 Turbo S, priced at £199,100, by over £56,000, though it costs more than the existing Denza Z9 GT
- Denza plans to open its first UK retail stores in late summer 2026, with customer deliveries starting by the end of 2026
Why it matters: The Denza Z is BYD's most direct pricing attack on European luxury performance brands, undercutting the Porsche 911 Turbo S by more than £56,000 at the entry level while delivering more than double its horsepower and a five-minute fast-charge claim — putting pressure on Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz as Denza opens its own UK retail footprint by end of 2026.
