- Hyundai launched the Inster Lounge in Europe, a range-topping premium trim of its smallest and most affordable EV, positioned to attract buyers seeking a "premium-inspired" interior.
- The Lounge variant adds natural leather seats, premium speakers with Kevlar membranes, a knitted headliner and sun visor, plus standard fully foldable front-row seats and adjustable second-row seats.
- The Inster Lounge is offered with a 42 kWh battery (95 hp) or a 49 kWh battery (112 hp), delivering up to ~223 miles (360 km) of WLTP range and 120 kW DC fast-charging that takes the battery from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes.
- An exclusive Glow Mint exterior finish joins four other colors — Atlas White, Unbleached Ivory, Tomboy Khaki, and Abyss Black Pearl — paired with a Dark Grey and Mint Green interior accented in Glow Mint.
- The Inster Lounge is priced from €29,850 ($35,000) in Germany for the 49 kWh version, roughly a €5,000 step up over the base Inster, which starts under €25,000.
- Hyundai Motor Europe president and CEO Xavier Martinet said the Lounge proves "an urban SUV can combine design, comfort, and flexibility with exclusivity."
- The base Inster was the second-best-selling A-segment EV in Europe in 2025, and Hyundai launched the Casper Electric Lounge in Korea earlier this year — the Casper Electric is rebadged and sold overseas as the Inster.
Why it matters: The Lounge moves Hyundai's entry-level electric SUV into premium territory with real materials — leather, Kevlar speakers, a knitted headliner — for a roughly €5,000 markup over a sub-€25,000 base. For European small-EV shoppers, the segment's second-best seller now competes more directly on perceived quality while preserving its affordability anchor at the bottom of the range.
